We accept most major medical insurance plans and are open-access providers for vision plans.

Eye Care Associates Cape Cod

What medical insurance plans do we take?

We accept most major medical insurance plans, including Blue Cross, Harvard Pilgrim, Unicare/GIC, Cigna, Medicare, United Heatlhcare, Aetna, Tricare, MassHealth and others.

As all plans are different, please call our office to review your insurance coverage.

Do we take vision plans?

Yes! We are open-access providers for vision plans.

  • Effective April 1, 2024, we will be open-access providers for most vision plans, including Eyemed, VSP, Davis Vision, Spectera, Blue View Vision, and Superior Vision.

  • Many of our patients will be unaffected by this change, including those patients with benefits through their medical insurance.

  • We will continue to accept payment through flexable spending accounts (FSAs), health savings accounts (HSAs), and from the many medical insurance companies we participate with. We also offer self-pay discounts.

  • In order for our patients to continue using their benefits, we are working with a program called Anagram that will process claims directly, on your behalf.

How do I use my benefits?

  • Your vision plan will reimburse you directly for a portion of your exam, glasses and/or contact lenses, up to your allowable benefit.

  • You won’t have to do any paperwork or submit any claims to receive your payment!  WE DO IT FOR YOU!

  • Once we submit your claim, you will receive a check directly from your vision plan in a few weeks.

  • We can also verify your “out-of-network” vision benefits through Anagram before your exam.

Why did we make this change?

  • We are now able to offer our quality products to patients with all vision plans. These include Davis Vision, Spectera, Blue View Vision, Superior Vision, as well as VSP and Eyemed.

  • Vision plans have restricted the use of quality products and labs, and reduced the reimbursement for your eye care so much that it has made it impossible for us to continue our relationship with them.

  • We can now choose our own labs and have a faster turnaround time for your glasses.

Open Access means your vision plan cannot dictate or restrict the quality of your eye care or your eye wear, while still taking advantage of your plan benefits!
